Hailing from Berlin, Yulia Niko is a DJ and producer whose sound oscillates between melodic house, techno and deep house. Yulia Niko discovered her passion for music as a teenager. After a serious car accident at the age of 15, she spent two months in hospital. During this time, she immersed herself in old Ibiza discs and records of trance, progressive and classic house, experiencing music as a remedy. This period was more than just a distraction; music became her refuge.
Just one year later, she stood behind the decks as a DJ for the first time. In her early twenties, she moved to New York to study music production. She spent four years in Brooklyn developing her style, influenced by classic house and techno trends from Detroit and Chicago.
It was there that she began to develop her own sound: minimal, groove-oriented and emotional. After returning to Berlin, she fused house aesthetics with melodic techno and deep house, creating the sound that is now her trademark.
She was able to release early work on renowned labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Hottrax, Watergate Records, 8Bit and Rebellion. In 2024, she reached a new peak in her development when her debut album TWINSOUL was released on Armada Music. Dedicated to her late father, the album is not only a musical project, but also an expression of healing, memory and emotional depth, incorporating elements of atmospheric house, techno and deep house.
Through her work, Yulia Niko has impressively proven that electronic music, often perceived as merely cool club music, can also convey vulnerability, poetry and a deep humanity.
She now lives in Berlin and is one of the most in-demand DJs on the international club and festival circuit. She was a resident DJ at the legendary Berlin club Watergate, a status which highlights both her DJ skills and her artistic roots in the city.
Her live sets take her around the globe, from Ibiza to New York to Mexico. On stage, Yulia opens up spaces and shapes soundscapes with her music.
