Lea Occhi is a French DJ and the co-founder of Spectrum Waves, a queer techno collective based in Berlin and Paris. Her sets are characterised by groovy techno with organic, tribal-inspired textures that combine history, emotion and physicality. From her musical retreat in childhood to discovering the fashion and DJ scene, and then making international club appearances at Berghain, Tresor, and Fusion, her career stands for inclusion, diversity, and empowerment, especially for women and marginalised communities in the electronic music scene. Occhi creates spaces with attitude, sound and human depth.

Her musical journey began in childhood, influenced by jazz, soul, and chansons, which she experienced as meditative spaces. Her fascination with electronic music unfolded during her school years, alongside her studies in fashion and design — a period during which curiosity, emotion and rhythm first emerged as the driving forces behind her artistic expression.

Her DJ sound is precisely curated, strongly grooving techno that combines mental depth with organic, often tribal-inspired elements. Occhi reads and controls energy — not just BPM — creating intimate, coherent builds that balance dance floors perfectly between groove, atmosphere, and emotional resonance.

From her early performances in Paris and Berlin to internationally renowned venues, Léa has earned herself a respected place. She has played at the legendary Berghain and appeared on the stages of Tresor Berlin, About Blank, Fold London, Le Sucre Lyon, Awakenings, Stone Techno, Dekmantel and Fusion Festival, leaving her own unique mark on the techno scene.

She has also performed on online platforms such as Hör Berlin, The Lot Radio, Section. and Loone Berlin.

Her inclusion in line-ups is a testament not only to her technical skill, but also to her attitude of celebrating diversity and inclusive spaces.

What sets Léa apart is her vision of techno as an emotional space — not just rhythmic energy, but also a meditative, communal and intuitive form of expression. She combines groovy elements with a clear, minimalist structure, always allowing emotion to speak louder than pure volume.

Her art is a statement: techno can be contradictory, narrative and profound — a soundtrack for feelings, movement and reflection all at once.

By co-founding Spectrum Waves in 2017, Lea created a space that transcends the party: a safe, LGBTQ+-friendly place where respect, freedom and equality are lived out. A portion of the proceeds is donated to refugee aid initiatives, LGBT+ associations, and HIV prevention, and the line-up design emphasises the visibility of marginalised artists.

This commitment is not an add-on, but is firmly anchored in Occhi’s artistic identity: she creates spaces where diversity is celebrated, not merely tolerated.

Occhi connects musically and personally with other artists who share her values and aesthetic vision. Whether as a resident DJ, a guest at international parties or through collaborative projects, she influences and inspires a growing generation of DJs and producers for whom techno is an aesthetic, social and political language.
