Hailing from Ukraine, Daria Kolosova is a powerful DJ of Ukrainian-German heritage who is conquering international stages with her diverse musical style, ranging from pounding techno to breakbeat, jungle, electro and hardcore. Born and raised in eastern Ukraine, she discovered her passion for music through classical piano training and her first DJ gigs in Lugansk, before finding her voice with the Materia collective in Kiev. She is now a regular fixture at renowned venues such as Berghain, Bassiani, and Fabric. Her artistic vision is characterised by energy, empathy and a desire to build bridges through music.
Daria Kolosova was born in Lutugino, eastern Ukraine, and grew up in a musical environment. Her father was passionate about music, and her mother sent her to piano lessons at an early age. A defining moment came at the age of nine when she heard ‘Diesel Power’ by The Prodigy and felt the power of electronic rhythms — the spark that ignited her DJ career.
She performed for the first time in Lugansk in 2010, while also organising her own parties. She later moved to Kyiv, became a resident DJ at clubs such as Keller and co-founded the Materia-UA collective under her former alias, Dar:k. Eventually, she abandoned her alias and adopted her real name — an important step towards artistic authenticity.
Daria is not tied to any one genre. Her sets are multi-layered, surprising and energetic. She combines hard, groovy techno with elements of breakbeat, electro, hardcore and jungle. This genre-mixing enables her to convey stories through not only volume, but also dynamics, emotion and drive. She views music as a “universal language of empathy and unity” through which she transforms her personal energy into shared experiences.
Daria Kolosova has performed on some of the world’s most famous stages, including Berghain, Bassiani, Fabric and The Fold in London. She has also performed at renowned festivals such as Awakenings, Skyline, Intercell, the NeoPop Festival, Glitch, the ADE Festival, the Zurich Street Parade, the DGTL Festival, the Nuits Sonores Festival, the 909 Festival, the Brunch Electronik Festival, the Time Warp Festival and the Junction 2 Festival. She concluded her first season in Ibiza with performances at Amnesia, Hï Ibiza and DC10.
She also performs at clubs such as Tresor, Amnesia Ibiza, Hafen 49 and Nitsa Club in Barcelona, as well as RSO in Berlin. She has shared the decks with renowned DJs including KiNK, Etapp Kyle, SPFDJ and Imogen. She has also appeared as a guest on online streams, including Hör Berlin, The Lot Radio, and Radio Intense.
Daria is not only a DJ, but also a producer who focuses primarily on the live experience. A milestone for her was her residency with the NECHTO label, founded by Ukrainian artist Nastia. She has also organised her own parties with Materia UA, creating a platform for like-minded individuals. She has collaborated with Nastia on B2B sets, among other things — a moment that highlights her connection to the scene and their shared vision.
