Born near Nuremberg in 1999, Lilly Palmer grew up partly in Switzerland, where she discovered her passion for electronic music at around the age of 17. She began her career as a DJ in Zurich’s underground scene, performing in small clubs with limited space and an enthusiastic audience. It was there that she began to incorporate melodic deep house and techno into her sets. However, she quickly developed a taste for harder, more energetic music: the audience responded strongly to faster BPM, driving basslines and hypnotic rhythms.
Over time, she formed her own sound from this mixture: powerful, emotional, uncompromising techno that appeals to both body and soul. Her sets are journeys with dents, peaks, depth and raw energy. The transition from melodic intro to energetic intensity can be heard and felt in both her productions and live performances.
From the outset, it was clear that Lilly Palmer was more than just a DJ; she embodies self-empowerment and creative control, particularly as a woman in a male-dominated scene. Her journey through Zurich’s underground scene, her breakthrough onto the international stage, and her commitment to an uncompromising techno style have made her a visible, strong and independent role model. She didn’t bend to convention, but pursued her vision.
She didn’t just play music; she created her own, built an identity and shaped soundscapes. She did all this with a clear awareness that women belong at the heart of electronic music, not on the sidelines.
Her career includes some remarkable milestones: in 2022, she surprised listeners with a two-hour set featuring 28 tracks for BBC Radio 1. In 2023, she gave an extraordinary performance incorporating samples from the ESA sound archive in a live set from the European Space Agency (ESA) test chamber. She has also performed at major festivals and clubs worldwide. Her music now resonates in venues ranging from underground clubs to international dance floors.
At the same time, she established an impressive discography as a producer. In 2023, she released ‘You Are My Guide’, a captivating techno track combining dark beats and haunting basslines that leaves listeners craving more. 2024 marked a turning point when she signed dual record deals with Armada Music and Kontor Records, signalling her artistic significance. The first single from this partnership, ‘Hare Ram’, combined her love of rhythmic energy with influences from Indian sound culture — a sonic statement that breaks boundaries and showcases her broad musical curiosity. That same year, she released “Hype Boy”, a track that immediately captivated club and festival audiences with its driving beats, striking synths and vocal loops – energetic, impetuous and unmistakable. In 2025, she released ‘Techy MF’, another track that further established her presence in the scene thanks to its powerful beat and clear message.
From gigs at clubs such as The Concourse Project, Audiodrome, Hï Ibiza, Hafen 49, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Club Space and Amnesia Ibiza, to festival stages including ADE, Dreamfields, Zurich Street Parade, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music, Loveland, Time Warp, Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Nature One and Mayday, to global releases on major labels, Lilly Palmer’s career is a testament to the fact that female musicians deserve a place in the spotlight. And her music? It tells stories that move people. It invites listeners in with full force and genuine presence.
