Nina Kraviz is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern electronic music. Originally from Siberia, she has performed on the world’s biggest stages, demonstrating the power of consistent independence. Growing up in Irkutsk, she first discovered electronic music through radio broadcasts, long before clubs or studios were an option for her. Moving to Moscow meant not only the end of her dental studies, but also her entry into the local underground scene. Following her initial releases as part of the ‘MySpaceRocket’ project, she swiftly developed her own distinctive style, blending acid, minimal and deep house with hypnotic vocals, flowing atmospheres and an almost cinematic soundscape. With EPs such as Pain in the Ass and her debut album Nina Kraviz, she finally emerged as a solo artist.

As a woman in a scene long dominated by male perspectives, she asserted herself early on with clarity and artistic self-confidence. Her performances at Moscow’s Propaganda club paved the way for an international career that has taken her to festivals such as Brunch Electronik, NeoPop, 909 Festival, Awakenings, Time Warp, Tomorrowland, EXIT, Ultra Music, Sonar and the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). At clubs like Club Space in Miami, Audiodrome in Turin and Amnesia in Ibiza, she doesn’t perform as an entertainer, but as the architect of a moment: focused, uncompromising and always true to her vision. Her sets oscillate between raw energy and subtle emotional layers, and are characterised by an intense presence. She sends a strong message of independence and artistic authority, particularly to young women.

With her own label, Trip Recordings, which she founded in 2014, she created a platform for experimental techno, acid and unconventional sound art. The affiliated sublabel GALAXIID extends this approach to encompass ambient, avant-garde and psychedelic electronica. In doing so, she opens up spaces for artists working outside the mainstream and gives visibility to voices that would otherwise rarely be heard. Alongside numerous EPs, Kraviz has released sophisticated curatorial projects, such as her contributions to the DJ Kicks series and Fabric 91, showcasing her stylistic diversity and deep understanding of musical narratives. Songs such as “Ghetto Kraviz” and “Skyscrapers” demonstrate her ability to confidently switch between powerful club sounds and introspective pop moments.

Her commitment goes beyond music. She uses her influence to promote diversity, creative freedom and equality in the electronic music scene. She openly discusses her own journey, her experience as an outsider, and the importance of maintaining one’s integrity — an approach that provides guidance and courage to young female DJs and producers. As a collaborator, she works with a wide variety of artists, supports new talent, and connects scene players worldwide.

Whether in intense boiler room shows, at Hör Berlin, in her label projects, or in numerous international performances, Nina Kraviz shows how powerful an artistic identity can be when based on attitude, curiosity and independence. It is her consistency, willingness to experiment, and ability to open up spaces where other women can find their own sound that inspire, not perfection.
